GWEN STORE
Operating a small new or used magazine & book store is a dream shared by many people including me. The bussines start on January by online selling but the store was founded in 8th December 2009 which at possibly the last high point for indie magazine stores in Jogjakarta. Since that time the store has expanded into stop point for those who came to magazines.
Gwen store doesn't really need an introduction. Is the first independent magazine stores in Jogjakarta, Gwen is perhaps the most well known. It's on almost everyone's Best of Jogjakarta list and came on the scenes.
Gwen is also the force behind waiwai, arguably the best handmade corner series in the city.
Inside, Gwen is organized into many of the usual import magazine store sections as well as some harder to find ones. Among my favourites are the well-stocked Communication Arts, MIX, Juxtapoz and NYLON, Also the owner and staff are knowledgeable and helpful.
